Chamber Music
Andrew Daniels' classical chamber compositions
have been performed by a variety of ensembles including Firebird,
Ixion, Balanescu String Quartet and the London Sinfonietta.
In contrast with many of his Film works, Andrew’s chamber
pieces have a harder edge are often drawn from more abstract
ideas but are highly structured works that require listener
involvement and interaction. The Musical Times has said that
there is "a palpable delight in the act of composition
itself, a relish in the subjective". His Hollywood orchestration
roots are also in evidence - pieces such as Reflections at Dawn,
String quartet no.1 and Duende show the influence of recent
French composers and in particular the Spectral works of Murail
and Grisey.

| This
textural, colourist approach is combined with often complex
linear writing in pieces such as Mirage D’azure and
Recall/Derivatives producing soundscapes that The Times
newspaper refered to as "Alive and vital".
Because of his busy schedule Andrew accepts
commissions only occasionally, but he is always interested
in hearing from groups with ideas for pieces, so if you’d
like to get in touch, please go to the Contact
page.
